2019 Ford EcoSport Features and Specs
Ford’s newest and smallest SUV, the EcoSport, returns for 2019. Introduced just last year, the pint-sized adventure machine features modern styling and advanced technology. And it’s available right now at College Ford Lincoln.
The 2019 Ford EcoSport compact SUV
The 2019 Ford EcoSport is available in four trim levels: S, SE, SES and Titanium.
Because the popular EcoSport was introduced just last year, it carries over essentially unchanged for 2019. Model year upgrades are limited to exterior tweaks on the SES model, along with the introduction of a new Black Appearance Package, which is also offered on the SES variant.
The compact SUV segment is filled with lookalikes. But the Ford EcoSport manages to separate itself from the herd with an array of eye-catching features.
Outside, the SUV draws stares with athletic body lines and available LED lighting. The exterior offers conveniences, too, in the form of an outward-swinging tailgate and an optional power moonroof. Buyers looking to turn things up a notch can opt for the available SES Black Appearance package, which includes a black roof and black hood decal.
Although the EcoSport is small on the outside, it offers plenty of room on the inside. There’s 2580.9 L of passenger volume for everyone to spread out and, outback, there’s 592 L of cargo space. Cargo volume grows to 1414.9 L with the rear seats folded flat.
Comfort and convenience
Big time comfort and convenience are found in the compact Ford EcoSport. Occupants can enjoy options like leather upholstery, heated front seats and a leather-wrapped shift knob. Plus, there are plenty of high-tech features like the SYNC3 infotainment system with integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Fast-charging USB ports, onboard Wi-Fi and a household-style 110-volt power outlet are also available. You get everything needed for a road trip or daily commute.
Two efficient engine options are available in the Ford EcoSport. The first is the EcoBoost turbocharged 1.0L three-cylinder (123 hp, 125 lb.-ft.) that’s standard on S and SE models. A 2.0L four-cylinder (166 hp, 149 lb.-ft.) is standard on SES and Titanium SUVs; available on lower-level models. All engine options pair with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Although the EcoSport comes with standard front-wheel drive, buyers can upgrade to Intelligent four-wheel drive for improved traction. When properly equipped, the SUV can tow up to 2,000 lbs.
The 2019 Ford EcoSport offers a long list of standard and available safety features. All models come with several air bags to protect both front and backrow passengers. Advanced driver assistance technology, such as Blind Spot Information with Cross-Traffic, is available on high-end variants. Hill start assist is also offered, as is traction assist with roll stability control.
